Re: Nyitra I
Mike, would you please post pictures of your alignment arrangement both with and without boat? I am very interested and may want to copy - with permission, of course.

Re: Nyitra I
I'll run out and take a shot after breakfast.
It's fairly crude. Thrown together by someone who knew how to weld but never got around to painting it with one color.
And it will be with the boat on the trailer as I'm not launching now for weeks!

There will be a short delay as I try to remember how I posted pictures last time.

Re: Nyitra I
Sorry I don't really have internet access here in Chautauqua.
The dock in question is a'm private dock shared between our family and 2 dock partners. Our partners are fine with Nyitra and know not to mess with her.
I put up a Mooring Buoy for the summer using a 75lbmushroom anchor with an rebar spiked 100lb concrete filled bucket. Butwhile im here and its not a stormy our dock is too convenient for now.
All is well.

Re: Nyitra I
Smokestackmag,
Here's a shot of the pads that catch the front of the boat:
And one of a side guide to keep the back of the boat centered:
You will notice the advance corrosion on the trailer. It's scheduled for a violent end at the hands of a cutting torch.
I think we've hijacked this post enough for now.

Nyitra safely moored at Chautauqua next to the neighbor's 22ft Catalina sailboat 'Mary V'. I imagine they do a lot of talking, hopefully they are friends.
Unfortunately probably not going to have the chance to get to her for a week or so. This picture from my neighbor.
Pontoons are roughly more or less half float. It has quite a bit of gear onboard including fuel (wood).
Mooring anchor is a 5 gallon bucket filled with an 80lb bag of concretes worth and rebar spikes coming out all over plus a 75lb mushroom anchor. The mushroom anchor is the generally preferred anchor type used on Lake Chautauqua.
The view is looking across the thin dimension of the lake towards Mayville, NY.

Re: Nyitra I
Mooring not so great if you want to try and be covert.
My sister and her family just arrived to spend their vacation at our family cottage on Chautauqua.
If you look on the right of the image you can see the vessel that just was rubbernecking around Nyitra and left a flat spot on the water from turning around.
I like her on the dock better, but I can't leave her on the dock unless I'm there to take care of her if the weather gets bad.
