Lake Nockamixon Meets?

I joined this forum in 2014 with great excitement. As often happens other priorities have steered my life. I was hoping to attend a Lake Nockamixon meet this year. So I looked at the International Steamboating.org schedule. It appears that it has not been updated since 2016. Are the Lake Nockamixin ...

Re: Event Calendar?

Don,

Thank you for this info. I will contact you in the near future. My wife will be having surgery soon so I will be preoccupied for a few days.

Event Calendar?

Forgive me if this is real obvious, but I thought I found an event calendar or a listing of steam boat events and now I can't find it. Either I am remembering incorrectly or it is hiding or maybe I am just loosing my mind. I would like to plan ahead and attend one of the events in the north-eastern ...

Re: Specs for my dream steam launch?

Reading through this thread again I realized that for fuel, I should have asked if Diesel fuel could be used, not fuel oil. I presume fuel oil, Diesel & kerosene are all rather similar. Diesel would be available at many marinas. Fuel oil probably not many? Coal & wood most likely none at all. It is ...

Re: Specs for my dream steam launch?

I can't say that I have read all the threads, but I have read quite a few, back to the earliest in this site. There certainly is a lot of info recorded here. A lot to remember. I do not recall reading any threads focusing on the overall design, the features and compromises as a complete system. I th...

Specs for my dream steam launch?

I have been thinking a lot about the detailed specifications for my dream steam launch. I am trying to imagine just how I would use such a craft. I dream of exploring several large bodies of water near me, the Delaware Bay and Chesapeake Bay (central east coast of US). All of these features and capa...

Re: Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA

Thanks CB. I will most definitely buy that book. And joining NASBA.

I am anxious to start working on steam launch design but I have a few other projects to complete first.

Re: Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA

Thank you all for your welcomes. It is interesting to learn how much steam boating activity there is in Pennsylvania. Interest and activities related to steam power of all types seems to be fairly common in this region. I will most certainly put the event dates into my calendar. Fred, you have a ver...

Greetings from Pennsylvania, USA

Greetings, I have just joined the forum and would like to introduce myself. My name is Craig Thompson. I live in southeastern Pennsylvania, USA, (ok fine, suburban Philadelphia), about 5 miles from the Delaware River / Bay and 40 miles from the Chesapeake Bay. All my life I have been fascinated with...
