Sorry , clarification's on boiler, so boiler 32 inches in height, boiler diameter 20 inches, boiler tubes 1 1/2' outside diameter 22 tubes, and a square firebox 24 by 24 inches 16 inches in height. Hi, 32 inch in height, 20" in diameter is just the boiler size, I was thinking about a building a square firebox 24 by 24 and 16 inches high. Just what to let you guys know I picked up a used tube expander off ebay for 50 bucks re-rolled my tubes this afternoon, just fired up boiler took 20 mins to reach 85psi everything appears to be fine now. Is their any harm in using a automotive tube expander for exhaust pipes to re-roll my copper tubes? I can pick one up for 50 bucks at NAPPA.

I have been running with 40% to 50% level in boiler, I will have to get that up to maybe 75%

Actually I think the bottom ( fire box side) of the tubes is fine being submersed in the boiler water. Can you tell me why some guys just roll the tubes in while others silver solder them?

Hi thanks for the info will I be able to reach the bottom of the tubes about 30 inch's in length with a tube expander also? there isn't a terrible amount of room in the fire box.
