Re: Story question about cargo
Interesting. Another silly question. Would you call your boat a tug? Or how would you describe it?

Story question about cargo
Hi and thanks to everybody who answered my previous and perhaps silly questions! This story question is about securing cargo but even more about getting it ready to unload. What I'd really like to know, is how can I make the passage I've written more interesting, complex, and informed. My character ...

Re: About mechanics and lexicon of getting underway
Thank you Wesley, Lots of great stuff on your site. I will keep checking it out. In ways does the following sound inaccurate? At light anchor, he glasses the island and environs. He lubricates the engine with a tallow can. He opens the top drain and all drain cocks and levers the handle to pump wate...

Re: Question about spare parts
Interesting. I'm thinking the propeller technology would be fairly quickly regained. I saw a video of Fred's boat, and it does look like a lot of fun.

Re: Question about spare parts
So lets say you have a bench in the cabin with a vise for pipes. Upon that bench is a wooden box with compartments full of assorted small tools. You can stock it with anything you might need, aside from the more carefully kept sextant, etc. What do you put in it?

Question about spare parts
Hi everybody, and thanks for your expertise and input as I chisel out the background of the story I am writing. It's awesome to learn from you. Btw, I have shortened and rebuilt my imaginary boat, fashioning her more along the lines of the Shamrock in order not to have a fraudulent model cruising my...

Re: Another story question
I can see that I’d better make it smaller. Still, the Shamrock gives me ideas. Thanks a lot!
