are you running a superheater or dryer? does your engine have a typical D slide valve? Reason I ask is general practice on marine steam even on large ships was no oil in the cylinders and let the steam create an isolator if you will between the cylinder and piston. We did not run any oil on our firs...

The others are correct you do not want to use brass, definitely naval bronze which will be hard to find. When my father purchased our Elliot Bay he bought 1" and 3/4" directly from Pat Spurlock and it came home from Portland in the bilge, having it shipped will not be cheap and neither will the mate...

I think Kelly would be the one to know about rivets being inferior in the USA, He is the VP of motive power at Strasburg Railroad, one of the leading tourist steam operations in America. I would wonder if Strasburg makes their own at all ? I know they manufacture injectors, safety valves and staybol...

Yes I remember meeting you, and yes I think Rachel Z is my favorite also and I have known all 5 of his boats quite well, fired or operated every one of them except for Adamy 1 which was quite small, hope she stays semi close.
