I have a small steam-hydralic crane on my boat. it can take abaout 1000kg
lifted over the stern, but max 200kg over the side, and then the boat leans very much.

on a trip i had four threaded studs broke. and I had no drill machine. each bolt i had to chop out the remains with a screwdriver.it took forever . so a hand drill is not wrong to have with you.

but a blackpowder weapons are never wrong, even if it is practical or not. I like the flintlock for a new peace of flint you can find on the beaches with a bit of luck. I have successfully made a few with limited resources.

one thing that I like to have with on long trips is a welding machine, preferably a IC powerd welder, with a welding machine on board and a few good files will get you far .

I have mine 30 foot 10 tons kg tug set up to be singeld handeld, i often run it my self, in tight quarters or in narrow Canals i start my waste oil burner. works fine.
