Lignum vitae was a commonly used wood bearing for cutlass bearings and rudder gudgeons back in the steam ship era and at least into the big WW2

That's a lovely engine. I love the cast back columns and turned front columns.

I think the clearance figure is something like 0.001" per inch in shaft diameter.. seems awfully tight for an engine that smol though.

Kelly, your boiler and engineering spaces look very tidy and well thought-out. I like the concept of a shorter and more squat firetube with shorter tubes and larger firebox. The next best thing to a Kingdon style submerged-tube VFT. It looks as though you could almost clamp each one of your turbulat...
