We've done a ultrasonic thickness test and the smallest thickness of the firebox is 8,5 MM and the boiler itself 8,8 MM.
But, does anyone have the Original drawings and technical details of this Semple boiler? It's necessary for the first inspection.
Thanks in advance,
Kees

Semple VFT40; looking for drawings
Some time ago I bought for a “nice price” an old, wooden sailboat hull with in that a Semple engine set. It’s the Semple VFT40 boiler with fittings and a Semple V 3+5x4 compound engine. The boiler has no certificates, but it's possible to get it if the boiler is well built, in good order and a drawi...

Re: My steamboatproject / Stuart 6A / Semple VFT40 steamboil
Thanks for both posts. The information you give, mister Rosse, I can only agree. My engine is a compound with on the high and low pressure cylinder a slidevalve. The engine works with expansion and compounding, it's some better as a single, but it could be much better for efficiency, haha! Maybe som...

Re: Taylor engine castings
For a steamlaunch, i'm looking for castings of a compound engine. I know the bore/stroke of the Taylor compound engine, that's perfect for this launch. Last year I saw in this topic the castings of some Taylor engine will soon be available again. But I can't find any information about when it's avai...

Building first steamlaunch; Blackstaff boiler and Stuart 5A
January this year, I bought a Stuart Turner Cygnet (5A) on the steamboatassocation. My plan is to build a woodfired Blackstaff type watertube boiler, with a pressure of 4 baro (60PSI). The volume is 12 liter, so the boiler is category 1 of the PED. That have benefits for examination. The hull is a l...
