Re: Water Viper (and others taken in the 1980s), Windermere

I was only 2 years old in 1986. I remember being on a rally in 1986 though, I think it was Norfolk.

Re: ejector

An ejector is an easy device. A good ejector needs a bit of precision work but using a proven and calculated design (such as the one in the Funnel) is the best way to go.

Simpson Strickland Engine - Pictures

I'm not sure what the engine size is, someone will be along shortly to tell you. The LP is 8". http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff82/Thesteamboatforum/Engines/Simpson%20Strickland/IMG_7103.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff82/Thesteamboatforum/Engines/Simpson%20Strickland/IMG_7102.jpg http:...

Re: How many of us ARE there?

One reason I made this forum was to make it as easy as possible for the non-computer type folk to read and write about Steamboats.

There will always be some people who will never use the internet, so hopefully us who do will be able to aid them with any problems they have.

Re: Hello from the Windermere Steamboat Museum

Welcome to the forum Carol.

I hope you find this forum as pleasant as a nice sunny day on the Lake.

We do still get sunshine up here don't we?

Re: The Funnel?

Hi Scott

Yes, Paper, though it is all in type text.

If you ask Brian nicely he may be able to send you the Funnel from issue 100 onwards via computer. I am slowly scanning in Funnels 99 and previous into PDF format for people to read all the old copies.

Re: The Motherload

Gas pipe generally isn't tested at 200C (390F) as you would get in a boiler.
