Re: DetroiTug's Tug is going together

To my knowledge no one has heated an absorption cycle with another source of energy other than a flame or an electric heater with one exception. I saw a small RV propane fridge at a goat ranch in the Baja mountains that had a solar collector (Old satellite TV dish with aluminum foil!) that was arra...

Electrically fired Boilers?

I've been thinking the last few days about the possibility of a small, electrically fired boiler for use running a small engine in the workshop or at home. The chief advantage I can see in firing a boiler electrically over chemically would be much lower operating costs as well as the ability to run ...

Not a drill, but have you considered an impact wrench used in tandem with a bolt extractor? After a pilot hole is drilled with a conventional bit, you can drive one of these left handed tools in to bite into the plug and force it out.

Re: Flying a (steaming) kite

On the topic of a watertube boiler, why not a Babcock and Wilcox design? John King has one built using cunifer tubing and requiring no welds, they don't require tube bending, and (based on my research), they fuel well on both solid and liquid fuels. The only parts that would be difficult to manufact...

Re: Southworth Steam Pump 12" for sale plus other stuff

Hello Tom, Saw Yukon and instantly thought Canada! I put the magazines in a box and weighed them, and it comes to 7kg or 15.5 pounds. I need to do a bit of research to see what the least expensive shipment method will be. Regards, The Severn Bore Funnily enough, I do live in Canadian County :D

I don't suppose you're flexible on the "in person" requirement for the copies of the Funnel? I'd be happy to pay shipping.
