For a boat in our size, just go with the direct fixing forget about tabs. I have a 17 foot west system plywood boat and the hull is totally rigid.

First of all, go and look at boats and talk to the owners. There are many 25 foot boats ( and over) in the UK which are towed all over the place. Most use LR's of some type but not all.

Well the answer seems to be , a bit higher or a bit lower, take your pick. Like most things in steamboating, very rarely is there one correct solution.

Would the downcomers be the pipes that connect the two tubes? If so, then I understand what you mean and will fill in those spaces. I’m pretty sure that we are talking about the same area.
