Re: Gordon Cheape Compound
The Cheape engine rights were sold to Hugh Mothersole who marketed them for a while and made a good set of drawings, the sheet above is a copy of one and is specific to this engine. Hugh sold the rights to A.J. Reeves 2000 who market various bits/drawings for really silly money! I see this particula...

Re: Gordon Cheape Compound
Martyn, First of all, the angles between the crank throws is not important so long as the valve gear is timed to the relative piston, some Savery engines were made at about 118 degrees as they considered it better balanced. Re: Unknown engine - HELP identifying please
I believe this was an aux. engine to drive a pump or fan, very common on steam ships, it looks like the bracket which connected the pump/fan has been broken off.

Re: Gordon Cheape Compound
Gordon Cheape engines are a copy of the Savery compound and use "savery" gear, this is a version of Joy gear but uses swing links instead of the usual curved slide blocks. Below is a photo of a Savery compound, one of the last to be made (1912).

Re: Simpson Strickland engine
There are a number of the smaller Kingdon engines about in UK, USA and one in NZ mainly of the 1/4A,A & AB sizes, I suspect this is the only B (or larger) engine left and certainly the only one capable of operation.

Re: S.L. Falcon.
This is a Simpson Strickland quadruple expansion engine size A with cylinders 2.5 + 3.5 + 4.5 + 6 x 3.5. they were patented by George Kingdon who was S.S. manager. This is engine 703 of 1895. They were true quadruple expansion but as the cut off of steam to the cylinders is very late, the effect is ...
