Old Funnel issues required
I am calling out for anyone with old issues of the Funnel I can borrow. If you are a member of the SBA and have been keeping up with the SBA website you may be aware that many old issues of the Funnel are now available to read in the Members section. I am missing the following: 11 13 15 16 19 30 49 ...

Re: Expanding property of Compressed Air
Dry air is a pretty much ideal gas. Ignoring any heat change, which makes minimal difference, Volume / Pressure = Volume / Pressure. That is a 10 Litre tank at 100psi if expanded to 100 Litres will give you 10psi. Hence why air pressure is a useless energy transfer medium. The real power of steam is...

Ultra Violet light can also help epoxy to set. Just leave it out in bright sunlight (even if it is cold).

Re: How can the forum be improved?
Only the liquid ignited without an igntion source causes me concern. All the other items; 'coal' 'wood' 'electric' 'gasoil' 'car' 'train' 'computer' 'telephone' 'cell phone' 'hard drive' all require an ignition source to ignight and burn. In the case of some cell phones, the ignition source is built...

Re: Whistle dB reduction (Snubber)
The volume of a whistle is related to the length of the flute.
I.e. a whistle with a flute 360 Degrees round would in theory be twice as loud as a whistle with the flute only on the front half.

Re: Sea Lion engine
Since vacuum is critical for exhaust scavenging and keeping engine compression pressures reasonable, a steam-powered eductor will be used to purge the condenser and generate vacuum for starting. I had thought about this for my engine design. The boat Eplenor has an engine similar to your design, an...

Re: Sea Lion engine
Hi Barts I have designed an engine a lot like this, but also quite different. I would highly recommend you look into using balanced poppet valves. They are not difficult to make and they will take a lot of stress out of the valve gear. Just think if you have 2 Square Inches of valve surface, and you...

Apparently there is a bug in the system which disables the setting.
It is now enabled.
