The center fitting insert through the cap and threads into the bearing cap so It will act as the hold down bolt for the cap as well as the oil channel. I had first tried a banjo style fitting so that the copper tube would enter perpend...

Nuts and Nipples
I'm hoping some of my friends on the east side of the pond will have some info they'd be willing to share. I'm looking for drawings on solder type nuts and nipple ends and the mating receiving end. I can't seem to find a source of the parts over here (all Googles lead me to UK sites). So I'd like to...

Re: VFT tube leak
The popular auction site with the name starting with e and ending in y seems to have a bunch of tube rollers listed, if you're patient you may be able to find the right size

Re: Blackstaff Boiler Basics
Pete,
I'm working on designing the casing for my future boiler, would you be willing to share some more detail on the construction of your casing? Especially how the panels fit together and how you are retaining the refractory (also what kind of refractory)
Thanks
Ken

Re: T goodhand boiler maker in Kent
I think if it stands 160 psi hydraulic test with ease , then what's the problem? It only runs at 75psi It's built by a professional there is no doubt, perhaps I should arrange for it to be dropped from the edge of space loaded with plastic explosive into a nuclear reactor and see if the safety valv...

Re: How to Install Brass Trim Between Hull and Deck??
Be careful, Naval Brass and Bronze are not the same thing. Brass is copper primarily alloyed with zinc and bronze is primarily alloyed with tin. Navy M Leaded Bronze C92200 Bronze is an alloy of copper, further classified as a bronze (copper-tin- alloy). Is used for a variety of steam pressure appli...

Re: digital steam engine indicator
Basicaly, the ones I've seen are a ring round the crank with 36 notches the one at TDC is larger as calibrator. The notches are read by a small coil with a magnetic core. Don't ask about the attatched electronics, that's beyond my ken, but I believe they can calculate the crank position to better t...
