Re: New member

Yes indeed, I would second that. You can also share your design thoughts if you feel like it. We are a nosy lot and like to see what ideas folk are working on.

Re: A High Speed Twin

What an excellent find. As you say it looks pretty close to the catalogue illustration so I would think you might be safe in assuming it is what you have. However, when you strip it down you may get more clues as to whether your real machine is the same as the paper one. Hope you will post up the pr...

Re: Mono-tube boiler website

Thanks for all that Fred. You are doing great things for my education! I will, if I may pick up some of your detail and add it to the Mono-tube site though I am not quite sure where for the moment. However, if you find yourself snowed in and unable to get into the workshop, a "Design of a modern mon...

Re: Mono-tube boiler website

Hi Elver Thanks for the question. I will offer you my incomplete understanding so If I am not correct, hopefully some our better informed readers will chip in. We start with a small diameter tube which if competely filled with water would not contain very much. The tube is heated at the same time th...

Re: How to Prepare Steamboat for Heated Winter Storage

Perhaps we should have an eye on the current economic situation around the world. Obviously, here in the UK with a Brexit trashed economy and an incompetent government, we have been greatly heartened to know (from a leak) that part of the Government's 'machine' is war gaming a week long failure of o...

Re: Steam engine from the North Caucasus

Hi Ingvar

Many thanks for the latest posting and I am glad to see that the build is still progressing. I do like what you are doing.

Our Forum seems to have gone rather quiet of late so it is good to know that some members are still busy in their workshops.

Best wishes

Re: New member.

Hi Welcome to this eccentric bunch of enthusiasts whose knowledge is very extensive. Need a question answered then just post it and you will get lots of support. We have been a bit quiet of late as it is moving into winter in the Norther Hemisphere and folks are winterizing their boats but not yet f...

Re: Mono-tube boiler website

Hi Bart and Friends That sounds an interesting idea. If one's budget is a bit constrained an alternative to the Hypro brand are Chinese cordless pressure washer pumps that are available from AliExpress - (https://www.mono-tube.org.uk/index.php/technical-issues/ancilliaries) I would be interested to ...

Well done. That looks very neat.

Hope that the energy crisis is not hitting you too hard. Here in the UK we have a 'politics crisis' but the comedians are having a fine time mocking the current Government.

Best wishes

Re: Mono-tube boiler website

Hi Scott That sounds like a good idea. Why not submit some preliminary material and photos explaining what you think could be done with it. We could then add to that with what you actually do when time permits. You may also get a series of good ideas from other folks to make the task easier than you...
