Re: LoadRite Trailer Details

Oooh yes! You gotta have parking brakes on your trailer! (or at least I have) On the day I was to tow the loaded trailer up to Coniston, I hitched up my caravan mover (2 wheels, a motor, leisure battery, controls and a longish handle) to the trailer, stowed the jockey wheel, pulled out the chocks an...

Re: LoadRite Trailer Details

Hi Yes, you have rightly spotted a cable, but as Mike has pointed out, it is for the parking brake caliper. (The disc rotors are not at all obvious in the two pictures) The Loadrite trailer was supplied to US specification, and only had hydraulic disc brakes which is not legal here in the UK/EU. So ...

Re: LoadRite Trailer Details

Hi Wes and Friends Many thanks for those links - first class information! You old hands will no doubt be amused to hear of my recent experiences with the trailer. Given that Frances Ann is now in a nice boathouse, it seemed a bit silly to be clocking up parking charges for the trailer at the Boating...

Re: Frances-Anne

Just to prove that the sun does shine in the Uk's Lake district, here is another picture from Greg: http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af181/PeteThePen1/Frances%20Anne/20140618_200830_zps2eeb21dc.jpg Apparently, the recent dry weather means that the lake level has gone down even further. We are deb...

Re: LoadRite Trailer Details

H Folks Me again. The trailer progresses in that the spare wheel arrangement is now sorted (sorry no pictures just yet). However, there is another little problem that I hope friends across the Pond can solve for me. The Loadrite trailer has hydraulic disc brakes and the main piston/actuator mechanis...

Re: Frances-Anne

Hi Ron Yep. But looks like you need someone(s) to demonstrate building a fire with "Prestologs". Ask anyone from the US Pacific Northwest. Yes please! If any of you on the Pacific NW would like to write us a guide that would be great. The Prestolog style briquette is now becoming much more widely av...

Re: Frances-Anne

Hi Folks Just to update on Mike's comments, she's not there any more... However, there is more to the story, as this week (27-30th May) has been Coniston Regatta which was a charity event located at Bank Ground farm, on the other side of the Water. The farm will be well known to Swallows and Amazons...

Re: Frances-Anne

Hi Folks We have had a very useful day at Coniston. The Boiler Inspector has called, done his very thorough inspection (visual check without the casing, thicknessing tests, peer inside with clever device, hydro test and finally steam test). He may have done more than that, but due to a prior dentist...

Re: Thread converting

Hi Folks Just noticed that I had not read this thread, so apologies for the late addition. If the water level gauge cocks are new and come from a British Supplier, you could possibly ask him/her to supply them un-threaded. That way you can put on your own NPT thread as there should be plenty of meta...
