Re: Mono-tube steam generators - special adaptations

Here is my effort to create this shuttle. I have assumed that one would use a solid block into which one could tap the appropriate holes for the brake pipe connectors. I have never seen barrel nipples with brake pipe threading. Do they exist? Hopefully the rest should be self explanatory, but I do n...

Mono-tube steam generators - special adaptations

Hi Steamboating Friends We in the UK are melting in rather higher summer temperatures that we have ever had. In this house the mechanical ventilation is off to avoid dragging in the warm air and not much activity is to be observed. However, a bit of intellectual activity never did any harm. I am res...

Re: How to Refinish Worn Gelcoat

When Frances Ann came back from a year afloat in the Lakes the gell goat had been adopted by a plethora of fresh water organisms. A good scrub failed to remove them and the shiny original white was gone. I resorted to a two pack white boat finish put on with a mini roller whilst dressed in respirato...

Re: Steamboating Magazine - Back Issue

Hi Russ & Friends Thanks for that and I hope that your Katherine is making a good recovery. We have come back from a fun weekend where our friends produced a cake, baloons, a banner and even party games. I had not played pass the parcel for many a long year! So, how about Steamboating Magazine back ...

Steamboating Magazine - Back Issue

Hi Steamboating Friends I have managed to drift into learning about mono-tube steam generators, although the search actually started with looking at articles in the SBA's Funnel Magazine on steam canoes. I have also stumbled into my back issues of Steamboating Magazine because my wife asked me for a...

Re: Where is everyone?

Hi Everybody Yes, I would agree that I too had wondered where everybody had gone. I am afraid that in my part of the world life has been all about the 'downsize' house. It is a 1930s semi-detached that goes under the name of Creuddyn (being in Wales). That particular Welsh word has no real translata...

Well done Dietrich

As the others have said the engine parts looks wonderful. The more you show us of the build the more convinced I become that I just don't have the skills to build your design, which is a pity. However, I can continue to enjoy what you are doing.
