I've just been sanding and scraping my old clinker boat,
Should I use varnish or penetrating epoxy?
I like the look of it and just want a clear coating of something on it ubove the waterline any suggestions?

I've done some research and discovered that my boat was built in 1963 a year before I was born It was constructed by LH walker in Leigh on sea , that's 5 minutes up the road from Southend on sea were I live ! A question for the knowledgeable out there, How far forward from the transom should the propeller be situated? Obviously the further forward it goes the smaller the props going to be, at the moment the prop is 15 inches in diameter sitting back about two inches from the transom, is this a good spot?...
