They are actually cut vinyl letters with no backing so thay simply get rolled into place and (hopefully) stick. Delivery is d...

Ron

That look simply excellent! We would call it a Thrust Block this side of the pond.

I am curious about how all that lovely steel manages to stay so fresh and shiny. Don't you get rust moths in your part of the world???

Re: Frances-Anne

Thanks folks, you are very kind. Must remember to avoid any close ups that show the real standard of work... Yes, there is an engine sitting under a dust sheet but out of shot. It was built by John Winn, who is one of the more prolific engine builders in the SBA. It is a vee twin with cylinders of 2...

Re: Greetings from New Zealand

Welcome Daniel You have a lovely little vessel there. Though looking again she is not all that "little"! It is nice to see more young folk joining us "wrinklies". Hope you will keep us from turning into Grumpy Old Men  (There is a TV show of that name in the UK where people are given air time t...

Dear Steamboating Friends One or two of you have enquired about the progress of my boat. So, here is an editied history for you. This was the image that I developed once the hull was ordered from Mr Beckmann. http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af181/PeteThePen1/Frances%20Anne/Frances-AnneDrawing.jp...

Re: Forum Window Stickers (For UK based members)

Dear Steamboating Friends We have good news on this front. I have found the two photos carefully filed away in a very safe (Silly???) place. I have sent them to the potential supplier for the second time today and hope to get a revised quote on Monday. The first time the server stripped them off my ...

Re: Funny Hasbrouck engine story

Just and idle thought for you... Steamboat Jack was offering his services for engine building having finished the two superb triples. Now the GBP is trading at 1.5 to the USD and is set to fall further as the UK slides into a double dip recession. For those of you in the US where the economy is like...

Re: Steam powered submarine?

Maltelec That was taken from one of the Scottish boat, possibly Talisker, and is a Frolic in heavy weather on Loch Katrine, some time last year. I do believe that the USA saw the development of a real steam powered submarine, one of which was recovered from the sea bed not too long ago. I am sure ou...

Welcome Chris

Do tell us about some of your steam interests and/or projects. We're a nosy lot and like to see what everybody else is doing (and then pinch their best ideas!).
