WOW that is a nice hull.
I have a stuart 6A in a 20 foot boat. It is OK not overly powerful but fun.
Fred, thanks for the formula for pitch. ive long pondered this and never put together the fact that the pitch is the same at all diameters and therefore the complex prop shape.

Christmas parade fort smith AR
16 kids 6 adults. 80#s of steam to blow the whistle for every kid that asked. Great Fun for my family and friends. Brand new paint on "fearless". She's 32 feet with a 1918 Navy K engine. It was THE hit along the parade route. Pulled by my 1947 GMC dump truck. "don't believe everything you read on th...

"spending all of your time fussing with the power plant instead of navigating."
I have done this to the point of nearly running into the NON-navigable side of the river.
Ah! steam boating. an overwhelming challenge for the solo operator! and yet So fun!

Re: Nyitra I
I pull water straight out of the Arkansas river thru a strainer. I have an eccentric pump on the 6A , a hand pump(yuk) and a pennberthy. The injector sometimes won't get going at 60#. I don't want to blow-down to fill. it must be able to put out at 80#. I bought a few that claimed 120 but the flow w...

Congratulation Nyitra
Were you able to pump water into the boiler with that pump? What pressure. I want to have an electric pump backup but haven't found one that pust out enough pressure. about 80#s wouldn't be bad.

Re: Glands- Any improvements?
Sorry all! My leaking is from the water pump! Not the piston rods. I see now why you said "side to side" movement (my wobble is vertical). I made a new closer tolerance bushing/packing compressor yesterday. I am anxious to try it out. It is going to rain all day here in Arkansas or I would already b...

Re: Glands- Any improvements?
Bart. That kind of agrees with my thinking except this wobble would be vertical not side to side. Maybe there is something mysterious here that i am missing but on the 6a the piston/shaft moves on the eccentric perpendicular to the axis of the engine. However, either way, side to side or top to bott...
