Re: Steam engine from the North Caucasus

Hi, https://thesteamboatingforum.net/forum/download/file.php?id=2811 the slot is to short. You have to lenghten it so the stone can moove free in "full ahead"- and "full astern"-position and to get the full stroke. Here two pics of my little STUART Launch Twin. Re: Vacuum gauge location

Hi, best position to connect the vacuum gauge is near the output of the condenser. Here some pics of rainers solution. He has installed a inbord condenser followed by an condensate collecting reservoir. The gauge is connected at the far end of the reservoir. https://steamboating.de/emma/bilder/em130...

Throttle-Valve finished

Hi, the throttle-valve is finished. I installed a cover plate in front of the quadrant so that it looks more pleasing. FahrVent158kl.JPG FahrVent162kl.JPG I also installed a connecting rod between the valve and the cylinder, so that the valve is secured against twisting. FahrVent168kl.JPG -- Dietrich

Re: Stuart no 6

Hi Allan,

you can find a No 6-drawing in "STEAMBOATS and modern steam launches", capture July - August 1961, page 18 and 19.

I generally recommend the book.

Re: My column-style steamengine

Hello, to be sure that the measurements are correct and the valve actuation works as desired, I cut out the parts with the cutting plotter and built the quadrant on a trial basis. The result can be seen here. I am satisfied and will now have the parts laser cutted. FahrVent086kl.jpg FahrVent085kl.jp...
