I bought this engine 3 yrs. ago with the intent of restoring it and using it in a fantail launch. I was informed by several people with much more experience in this subject that it is just to small for a Rochester - sized hull that i want to use. So, I am taking it to the Dublin, NH show (I'll be there about noon - around the boiler) and the about 3 pm, head up to Lee's Mills at Winnepisaukee until Sun afternoon to sell or swap.
Description:
vertical compound, 1880's
2x4 and 4x4, Stevenson linkage
1" double disc crank shaft
HP side mostly complete and free, LP side frozen with missing parts
but can duplicate HP parts to finish
Looking for a 3 1/2 or 4" bore with 5" or 6" stroke or will build my own.
Price is $675. Thanks , John

Re: Selling or swapping a compound.
Hello, all. I took the engine to Winnepisaukee by way of Dublin, NH on Sat,9/6. It sold within 15 minutes of my arrival at Dublin for my asking price without even removing it from the back of my SUV. I was really surprised to say the least, but now can focus on finding a bigger one for the Rochester-like hull. Thanks for the interest. Best regards, John
