Would I be wrong to suggest that as it seems to have no revrsing gear, it is more likely to be a workshop engine than a launch engine.

It appears that the inner, smaller diameter, flywheel is a handwheel for the slip-eccentric reversing gear.

I did look closely at that and thought perhaps it wasn't, but then what else might it it be?

I can't believe the high bid was only 250 dollars, it's worth that as a doorstop. I would've bought it myself, but I have enough stuff to trip over in here now.

Pretty sure it had slip eccentric, if ya look at the one pic it shows the small wheel rotates a hub around inside the eccentric.
