Hi Dietrich,

Thanks, I have never created a report on this project. It was a very extensive restoration beginning with it's chassis that was destroyed in a barn fire, I had to replace all tubing in chassis, make patterns and cast new front axle yokes. The wood body was in very bad condition and the seat was gone, I made a new seat for it. As well as fenders and dash.

Reproduction? No, it isn't. An Original car restoration.

I laugh, steamboaters are generally nice and not judgemental, roll four wheels under something and it's ''cue the jerks''...

As long as it's in the right forum for it I don't see any problem with it.

Some people like me even use steam automobile engines in steamboats.

My first impression of your photos was something along the lines of, "Beautiful work, my own best work will always be several rungs below that."

The designs around 1900 for many automotive steamers was strikingly similar. I attached a 1902 Toledo steam carriage picture.

I apologize if I came across as a jerk. Definitely not the intent of my joking response.
After reading about the large amount of work you performed for the restoration, I jokingly said "Reproduction."
I appreciate what you had to do on that project.

I have been working with others on the restoration of a 1901 Locomobile, so I can relate.
To get just the steam motor running required machining 18 new moving parts out of the original 36, including a new crankshaft, which was broken.
Restoration? Yes. ((-;
Lots of new parts? Yes.
