Hi
She's based on "Panatela" but 5' wide x 25'
She just touched the water for the first time...sans boiler

Boiler is almost done...then it's time to put it all together!

Thank you for the kind comments.
She is obviously a compound. 1.5 x 3.0 x 2.5
Inside admission on HP and outside on the LP
stephenson valve gear with box links
Piston valves
2 HP @ 600 rpm w / 160 psi She"ll go up to 1800 rpm if you let her.
I designed and built her myself with only the cylinder blocks and the standards as castings ( my patterns) The rest of the engine is bar stock.
She has a "Seabury" style receiver plumbing that is through bolted and sealed on a face seal. This allows for thermal expansion.
The engine is lagged in brass.

Thanks for the dimensions. What results did you get when you put it on the brake?

The steam was quite wet as it was at the end of a 20 foot long steam table.
At 80 psig ( all the boiler would do) and 600 rpm I got 0.75 BHP.
My boiler is capable of 150...160 to lift the safety, and If I am dryer than the test....which I should be, and using a condensor, which wasn't used in the test, I should come close to 2 BHP @600 rpm
She is capable of higher speed, but 600 was the design speed.

Thanks for your kind words!

Yes they do!
Very stable too...initial and ultimate
6.3 mph @ 100 psi without condensing.......can't wait to try the condenser and the new economizer.... 150 sustained should be no problem....160 with the condensor

LOL that's great!
We were listening to the CB radio on our boat one time when we hear a call to the coast guard (yep the coasties have a "R&R" station on Tahoe) about a boat on fire..
