I was able to fabricate a steam siren after an original design.

It is now fitted to my steam launch "Witch of Endor".

Details are on the "Steam Accessory" Page of the Steamboat Association of Australia's Web site here:

http://www.steamboat.com.au/

You will find a photo of the original, a photo of the final product and the internals and a short video. The video was made soon after completion when running on air. The noise it produces is incredibly loud... it makes your ears hurt.

The siren was initially fitted to one of the boiler outlets but proved too loud to be used. It is now mounted on the canopy just ahead of the whistle.

An article and some drawings appeared in the Funnel and the SBAA's quarterly newsletter "Steam Leak".

I know this is an old post, but that is pretty neat.. I will have to try and make one myself.

On another note, I seem to be having trouble viewing the videos on your website.
