Hello everyone. I'm a new entrant and am looking to buy a steamboat. Engine, boiler, hull in any of those combinations. What I'm looking for would be around 30ft with a slow turning engine. I'd prefer something a bit "ratty" A bit of a hotch potch even. (we all have different tastes) If anyone can help, I'd be forever grateful.

Dear Sloper ,

It's always nice to welcome newcomers to the forum especially if one can offer constructive help or advice .
I think you'll find that there is a wealth of experience and goodwill amongst the forum contributors but in order to help you properly they need to know a bit more about you .
For example there's not much point in offering advice about what you might need if steamboatng on Windermere if you are in Australia, or about steaming on salt water if you're in the American Mid West.
So let us know roughly where you intend to use your boat and also where your skills lie (engineering or woodworking'etc) and I'm sure the offers of advice will be forthcoming .

All the best Edward.
