Glad to be a new member of this group. I have been lurking on this forum for several years and finally joined. I am building assassin by Wes Farmer. I built a Hasbrouck #1 engine, and a copper boiler of my own design. I hope to launch this spring and will look to this group for some of the final details.
Thanks-Peter H

Welcome Peter! I probably speak for almost everyone on the forum in saying we'd love to see and hear about your build.

Cheers!

Yes indeed, I would second that. You can also share your design thoughts if you feel like it. We are a nosy lot and like to see what ideas folk are working on.

Hello everyone,
Glad to be a member. Not new at boating however new at steam boating. I have been a Marine Surveyor for the past 31 years and had the pleasure of surveying the Steamer Mascot and the Admiral's launch New Jersey from WWI. The photos are of my new project, 1974 "homemade" with an 1885? single cylinder mounted up front. Yes, upfront. This boat 'Dauntless' came from California and I bought it from the second owner. If anyone has information on it, Please let me know.
Sincerely,
Perry

That is an elegant boat. Can't wait to see you get it back on the water!

Welcome to the forum.. I'm glad that boat is getting a new lease on life. I don't recall if I ever saw that boat at the Delta steamboat meet. I'll have to look back in the archives. What part of California did it come from?

Peter H., welcome to the forum!

I think I saw that boat (or perhaps a twin) once while we lived in CA... was that originally an electric launch?
