Welcome and best wishes on your project. For almost 40 years I planned to build a steamer, and, getting into my senior years, I realized that I had to start building rather than dreaming. Steaming along with near silence of the power plant, at a leisurely pace, is most enjoyable.

The quote from Sterling Hayden that got me going ... “The dreams of youth grow dim where they lie, caked with dust on the shelves of patience. Before we know it, the tomb is sealed.”

Welcome Guy,

You will find the answers to almost any question you may have either already on the site or by asking a question. We have many very knowledgable members willing to share their expertise.

Do also join the Steam Boat Association, http://www.steamboatassociation.org.uk/ as that too is a useful group of people. Come to some of the events and get some experience of he boats in action. A search of the Register may also turn up other folk who have built the Felix 16. I know we have quite a few of Selway Fisher designs in the fleet.

Regards

Pete
