Greetings to All

I am new to the forum, and, as requested, am posting a little info about myself. I am a retired engineering professor with a basement full of toys--lathe, milling machine, drill press, band saw table saw, planer, etc. My shortcomings can't be blamed on my tools.

I have been a tinkerer all of my life, burdened by the urge to make everything from scratch. Over the years there have been telescopes, cameras, model engines, kites, and other stuff. Presently, I am working on a launch using a Beckmann Rose Hull and a home built engine and boiler. I look forward to using the forum and have already benefited from some advice found there.

Building from scratch has a long history in steam modeling and boating. A re-reading of Trustee from the Toolroom has gotten me off dead center more than once.

Within living memory, all modeling compasses pointed to Britain. Now this wonderful 'disease' has spread work wide.

Welcome,

Mike
