Colin chandlers 14ft yachting world day boat conversion to steam
This is a project to turn a rather rotten day boat into a steam boat, there's no big 30k budget so I'm hoping to get a steamboat for a working mans budget,
So far the trailer has cost £120 on eBay I had to dismantle it and put it on the roof of my van because I didn't have a tow bar,
The van in the picture is my mate Dave who helped me for the day
The boat was found locally on Facebook and cost me. £150
So I'm all in for £270 so far, there's some rot so it's time to get on utube because I don't know anything about boats !
It's home and the project begins

Here we go let's get the first one out, looks like the nightmare has begun, lol,
The copper nails are easily cut through with my oscillating multi tool and so is the plank so it just slides out

Once you've done one the rest get a bit easier, I've got a bit better at doing the nails and roves and I've actually steamed a couple of new ribs in place

The keel is being removed, it's pretty rotten and it's got a big gap in it for the drop down dayboat keel so it's coming out

Stern gear propeller etc sourced in a local scrapyard for next to nothing, after exchanging for scrap lead flashing and copper pipe offcuts and old taps, possibly around £30 worth
