Kind of a big deal....
Lifted the main engine and boiler in on Monday (12-08-2014)!

All said and done it took less than an hour to drop them in. The boiler weighed in at 2300 lbs fully outfitted with economizer, firebrick, etc. (the 3-pass scotch would have been 4800 lbs without economizer!) The engine weighed in at 1800 lbs.
The engine room is VERY spacious, with nearly enough room to throw 4ft long cordwood into the boiler, if the firebox was longer than 3ft that is. Next is aligning the engine to the prop shaft, plumbing, and lots of test steaming on the hard before launching in either the lake (fingers crossed for lots of snow or rain this winter), or the Sacramento river delta.

Very impressive work, anxious to see the launch video. Doesn't look too far off.

Well done!
Congratulations from across the water.
Don't new white painted bilges look wonderful? But why do we paint them white when a few trips down they are going to be somewhat on the wrong side of 'off white'! (or is that just my boat...)
Hope you get her in the water soon. I'm looking forward to the video.
Regards
Pete

Excellent, Wes. That is a pleasing fidley and engine room. Can appreciate the smile on your father's face ...

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen... This has been over 10 years in the making, my father having received the hull around March of 2004. It has been a daydream for at least 20 years! This has seen the passing of a number of friends and family whom we were hoping to share the maiden voyage with, including but not limited to my uncle Milo Maxwell Harcourt II, as well as friends Richard Burleigh, Todd Guldenbrien, John Woodson, and more. A bit bittersweet.
The plan is for launching this coming spring... Though we've Said that for the past few years (makes the thread title fitting doesn't it?!?). Everything is finally falling into place!
I will be posting video of the big hoist and an update when I either get new video related drivers for my computer or a new computer...
