Hi Steamboating Friends
Thank you for your kind words and ongoing support. You will not be rid of me yet as I am being led astray by Dietrich who is encouraging me to build the engine that would be required for the canoe we discussed in "An anti-dote to Cabin Fever".
I am so sorry to hear news of your wife Russ and I hope that your family will rally around and help make life work for you both. Whilst I have no experience of stroke recovery, Kath & I have a lot of experience of mobility equipment for disabled people. Of course our experience may be quite unsuited to your wife's needs, but here is our website just in case: https://cyclingotherwise.co.uk/ We built it because there seemed to be so little user based information out there.
There is more recent news of Frances Ann. The buyer has decided that she is far too small for him so has taken out the plant and sold on the hull. He has now commissioned a custom designed 22ft launch which will be clinker larch on oak, with teak decks and mahogany fit-out. Our Contributing colleague Greg has done the design and will be building it from the ground up. Hopefully he may come back and post us up some pictures.
Best wishes
Pete
