My 24' Launch
Re: My 24' Launch
Well, I purchased our hotel reservations, 2022 Woodenboat Show exhibitor space, and researched boat ramps around Mystic, CT. Now, here's hoping all the detail work, driveway trials, and sea trials work out ...

Best of show methinks. See you there.
Re: My 24' Launch
Fred, you're too kind ... There are some amazing restorations in the last year featured in Wooden Boat that are coming to Mystic. We'll just be happy to show.

Re: My 24' Launch
Hi all. Mr. Weaver is too busy dealing with last minute cosmetic details for the WoodenBoat Show to post, but gave me permission to do so in his stead. On May 26th, his launch Iona made her maiden voyage/test run on Blue Marsh Reservoir, just north of Reading, PA. I was privileged to go along as the chase boat. Here are the photos.

It was not easy to convince Allnutt. All his shop training had given him a profound prejudice against inexact work, experimental work, hit-or-miss work.

Re: My 24' Launch
I wish I'd stumbled onto this hobby when we were living out east, all these lakes and reservoirs were within an hour of where we lived and I had no idea this stuff was going on. Ah well, at least I can see it in the photos, and what photos they are. That is a very sharp steamer, well worth the time invested to build. Gives me a goal to shoot for.
