Hello William,

nice layout!

Can you please provide us with some info about your flash steam boiler?

Very nice work! The valve motion looks like the Marshall-Bremme valve gear on the sidewheel steamboat I built last year. Many contries have the same design, but with a different name.

Good to have you join.

Beautiful work. I am always amazed by those NDC engines.

Hello!
@fredrosse: yes is a Marshall-Bremme valve control, it's so easy to build! Earlier, I had to build a distribution Bremme-Klug, I had to change for the "marshal-Bremme" because the first vertion was fragile.

@ Rainer: My "flash boiler" is heated with all solid fuels, mainly wood 60 x 60mm format. (approximately). It includes a charger 0.031 m3. A vertical fireplace, forced a blower, a feed pump "simplex", which also operates the fan. The feed pump runs continuously and at constant speed, it also serves as a steam comsumption. A pressure control valve on an air line. A separator is installed at the exit of steam with a automatic drain. The boiler consists of 75 m of seamless steel tube, it weighs 75kg. With 14lt of water.

Your engine is one of the best we have seen. Excellent workmanship, and beautiful harmonic motions. What RPM will it be running?

The valve gear on the walking beam steamer is shown working here:

thanks fredrosse

Very nice video, I like the non conventional engines.
Your engine run very slowly, is very nice.

The Isabelle engine would running 400 to 600 rpm (max), but with variable pitch propeller.

Hello all
last weekend I finally made the first test-fired boiler Isabelle.
The boiler was easily produced 13 bar steam at 200 ° C. The pressure rise up to 5 bar is done in 15 minutes, then once the feedpump works and drives the primary air fan, the pressure rises rapidly to 13 bars. The tank timber contains envireon 10kg of wood (or coal) and the fireplace requires no monitoring. Only the pressure is controlled by a valve and air inlet by the cantité of water injected into the boiler. The steam is drained into a separator, and water is ejected through an automatic drain.
The test could not be extended as long as the top of the tank timber is not sufficiently isolated and it started to overheat. After modification I would make new tests. But this first test is very encouraging!

Conratulation to this test!
Thanks to share the videos with us.
I cant wait to see it coupled to a main engine.
