HELP identify steam tug

Post by SteamTech » Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:03 am

Hello

Please help identify the steam engine of the steam tug. Presumably built in 1906. Kiel or Brandenburg. 2 letters G and H are visible on the oilers of the main bearing under the covers.

Hello,

it could be a ARDELT Twin.

A few more photos would be very welcome.

Yes, more photos might help.
The engine's valve actuating mechanism looks quite different from those I've seen on large marine steam engines.
I cannot figure out the actions involved.

I believe that is Marshall valve gear, as discussed in the Fall 2022 issue of the Funnel.
It was not easy to convince Allnutt. All his shop training had given him a profound prejudice against inexact work, experimental work, hit-or-miss work.

Good afternoon. thank you for your interest. now we have removed the engine from the steam tug and we can take any photo of this machine and the steam boiler.
