Texas Steamboat Rally in the making...y'all come!

Post by Mfoxchicago » Wed Jul 29, 2015 6:14 am

Ok Steamboating Forum Fans & Fanatics... Capt. Mack aboard PS TULE PRINCESS extending an invitation to any steamboaters, with or without boats, to come visit Lake Nasworthy, in San Angelo, Texas - West Texas for those doubtful there could even be a steamboat operating out in dry West Texas, but there really is and she a very special lady. PS TULE PRINCESS is now operating (since March 2013) on Saturdays & Sundays and for Private Charters from March -thru- December. Check us out on the web at www.tuleprincess.com and FB @tule princess or call: 325-340-4400.

We hope to establish and grow an annual steamboat rally in West Texas on Lake Nasworthy with TULE PRINCESS being the host boat, since she weighs 14 tons and NOT a trailerable boat in any but the most extreme circumstances. Lake Nasworthy already annually hosts two huge events that draws visitors to the lake and we thought a steamboat rally would be the perfect alternative to these other fossil fuel events that make a lot more noise and really big waves. Currently, we have the Lukas Oil National Drag Boat Races at the end of June and the Red Bull "Wake The Desert" Wake Board Competition in July. August would be a perfect time for a steamboat rally on a lake PERFECT for steamboating - not too big, not too small, plenty of nooks and crannies, bends and turns for exploring; and easy to get off of if the weather turns bad.

TULE's operating dock has room for two or three visiting boats at present to tie up along side, but we have future access for many more if things grow quickly.

What we need is to begin a CONTACT LIST for steamboaters (with or without boats), primarily in Texas, willing to travel to San Angelo for a weekend visit; help lay the ground work per say. TULE blowing her whistle and chugging along is a complete novelty out in these parts, but if any other steamboats were to show up for a visit (you mean there are more steamboats out there), THAT, would be an instant media and public sensation. I know this lake would be perfect for your boat. And, your boat would be a perfect tool for educating the public about our steamboating community; young and old alike. We can rally the Press, City and Chamber to support this sort of event very easily.

If you live in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana or Arkansas and are willing to trailer yourself and your boat out to West Texas - we'll be here to help facilitate you getting here, finding a place to stay, where to eat, which ramps are best, getting the fuel & water you need and get you a forum to show off your amazing boat.

Come visit!

Capt. Mack's contact number is: 325-895-0349 or Mfoxchicago@hotmail.com or Tuleprincesssteamboat@hotmail.com

Hoping to hear from you Texas Steamboaters very soon!
