Engine info

Post by TahoeSteam » Fri Apr 30, 2021 8:13 pm

Saw this engine on the interwebs... Anyone know anything more about it?

Seems quite interesting. Slip eccentric with all three eccentrics off the front of the crank and valves activated with layshafts and linkage. Reversing appears to be by lever on backside of engine with rack and pinion to rotate/move slip eccentric collar. Almost appears to be setup for single-handling. Decent size judging by size of valves... I think the throttle is 1-1/2" by the other screenshots I have of it. Plumbers nightmare of valves for the simpling line. Made by Sullivan.

The restrictions on photo size and number is a royal PITA on here. Couple that with Photobucket trying to extort customers and their formerly free accounts, it makes it hard to want to post any photos...

If you put "imgur alternatives 2021" you can find a list of alternatives.

This one says it doesn't expire and it won't reformat your images:
https://postimages.org/
1) Select Image, it will upload it it
2) Copy the "Hotlink for forums:" and past it in your forum post and the image and a link will show up on this forum.

Hi Wes,

I gave up on posting sites after the photobucket and wikiupload debacles. If you're using windows 10, just right click on the photo, select ''edit'', that will open it in paint, then select ''resize'' and enter 25 etc, then save it as a jpg. Then upload to here.

If you're using windows 7, you can use ''paint'' or there is/was a Microsoft add on called ''windows essentials'' which has a very easy to use, pic resizer.

That's a nice looking engine, quite large, for a 30 footer possibly.

Thanks for the tips Ron. I usually use my phone to post these days..

From my observations and using one of the valves with a known size as a 'scale' I think the stroke is between 6 and 8"
If so, quite suitable for 30'+

Wes,

I'm stuck with the PC, when ya get older and the eyesight starts waning, the phone is just too difficult to use, not to mention, every time I touch it anywhere it does something I never intended, then I have to find the right places to touch it to undo that.

I need a flip phone with a 17" screen.

Hi Wesley,

where did you found the pictures of the engine (link)?

For resizing of any pictures i use "ShowFoto". It is freeware and available for LINUX and WINDOWS.

For hosting of pictures in a forum i use the integrated functions of that forum, the pictures where resized to 800 x 600 pixels and 75% quality for jpeg. It guarantees, that the pictures will be available independent of "photohoster politics".
