 Ok so they didn't teach us history of battles we lost at skool.

They did spend 2 years teaching us about the American rock and roll era though. Interesting as it might have been, I would have expected some British history in our classes.
who bailed your redcoats out during WWII? It sure wasn't France!
I seem to remember it was the brilliant British minds who invented RADAR, the electromagnetic computer, Churchills speech and shear pride which defeated the Germans, causing the Italians to run away and just leaving Japan to sink all the American boats.

And where did Marie Curie study radioactivity which laid down the science for the atomic bomb? France maybe?
I've got the vehicle, just need the boat.

Hello Everybody ,

I wish I'd never pointed out Maltelec's mistake in lumping Canada and the USA together . His geography is appalling and he definitely didn't mean to offend .
This correspondance is getting towards the stage when some people might actually take it seriously and be offended .

I think it should stop and I apologize if I upset anyone .

Regards Edward .

LOL noboy offended here

Den,

My "mum" was born in Swinton (near Manchester) in '58, she moved to Canada when she was 4. She remains a Canadian citizen to his day, dispite being in the US for over 26 years.

So that's how I attained my "tri-citizenship" through her.

Lots of family still in Manchester and elsewhere.

Well we did wander off the topic slightly didn't we? So how was the show? Did they edit it down to nothing or was it a fair representation of a steam boat? I had fun with the barbs that were shot across the waters but you are probably right to draw these conversations to a close so I'll end with "How was the show?" Den
