Yesterday came the crankshaft of the engine of the SS Savoie, back renovation of Hamburg

Impressive AND beautiful.

I see that there are temporary shipping blocks between the crank cheeks. A reminder that crankshafts get a great deal of their stiffness from the crank case.

Is this the crankshaft for the ship that broke the paddle hub recently?

No it's another ship at crankshaft broken ( Ss Rhone) true is the nothing crankshaft broken, but the wheel axis.
