Just found this on youtube, thought I'd share...The Steamship Shieldhall is the largest working steamship in Britain. A member of the National Historic Fleet she serves as a sea going tribute to Britain's maritime heritage. This documentary gives you a behind the scenes look at preparing the ship for sailing and a look at the non-public areas of the ship. Built by Lobnitz & Co. of Renfrew on the River Clyde in 1955, the Shieldhall was one of the last reciprocating steamships in the world, running until 1985. Based in Southampton, she operates a number of sailings each year. To book trips and find more information visit ss-shieldhall.co.uk
Please enjoy this film but, do not copy and re-upload it. A lot of time and effort has gone into this film. If you want to share it, please use a direct link. For any other use please contact me via private message or email, thank you.
P.S. At 28:30 into this film they show simultaneous video from the bridge and the steam engine operated steering gear room!
