The Funnel?
I got a possibly silly question.
Upon joining this forum it was recommended by members here that I also join the SBA which I did, and having done so I understood that the articles of The Funnel would be available to read free for members.
How does one go about reading or even finding a link to download the Funnel? I have finished reading every post this site has and find myself thirsty for more input.
Cheers,
Scott

My Grandpa told me when I was 8 or so that “You have to learn by the mistakes of others! Because you will NOT live long enough to make them all yourself.” At that age I though I had forever to learn everything...

Re: The Funnel?
The Funnel is a paper publication. The Winter edition should be in your hands early December.
There is one article per issue, for the last few issues, available for online reading. They're found in the Funnel index on the SBA website.

Paper? What the heck is paper? Is it some new form of .doc or .pdf? What program is used to read it?
Seriously? Paper... Like the stuff they wrap around a firecracker?
Ok so be it... is there a place to find past copies in something more user friendly like a pdf?
Cheers,
Scott

Hi Scott
I was talking to Brian Smith, the editor of Funnel, this weekend, there is lot of information in it.
Back copies are at http://www.steamboattrust.org.uk/

Hi Scott
Yes, Paper, though it is all in type text.
If you ask Brian nicely he may be able to send you the Funnel from issue 100 onwards via computer. I am slowly scanning in Funnels 99 and previous into PDF format for people to read all the old copies.

I've got the vehicle, just need the boat.

Its a good read, an amount is given to rally reports which may be of sell interested if you dont know the people and boats, but there are often good technical articles and discussions.
I think its great the back issues are being digitised, but also that its still printed in hard copy.

Re: The Funnel?
Has anyone appreciated the irony of a steam boat enthusiast complaining about paper based publications on the Internet

Not really; my computer is old enough to be steam driven!
