Hi

Just a thought from an old wrinkley.

Do bear in mind that lifting a small boat onto the roof of a car is not trivial, even if you are young. You really need some assistance for safety, but will your good lady be willing/able to do that? By comparison a small trailer will allow you to have a somewhat larger boat that will be nicer to use, but very manouverable on its trailer, especially if you get one of the old style free standing caravan movers (e.g. Mr Shifta). Launch and recovery will be less work too.

It also means that by the time you get to my age you will still have a good back and be fit enough to keep on steaming.

Regards

Pete
