I notice your youtube video is 5 yars old, did you ever get underway on your steamboat project? Looks like an excellent engine for a small steamboat.

Thanks for sharing the video! What pressure were you running at? Were you happy with the performance of the pump?

The pump I used was from Procon pumps, they have lots of different models with different capacities, all the details are on their website. A word of warning- they are rotary vane pumps so should only be driven in one direction, which was fine for me as my engine was non reversing. If you were to put one on a reversing engine you would need to include a freewheel clutch arrangement to prevent it getting damaged when running the engine in reverse.

I decided to use a rotary vane pump as I wanted something that would be very quiet (which it was). I didn't have any problems with it, but didn't use it very much.

The safety valve was set to open at 100psi but it was operating at a lot lower pressure as there was no load on the engine to create a backpressure in the monotube boiler.

Other projects won my attention and I sold the engine and boiler setup without putting it in the boat.
