Water Column for Novice's Model M Boiler

A special section just for steam engines and boilers, as without these you may as well fit a sail.

Water Column for Novice's Model M Boiler

Post by CannonFodder » Sun Nov 27, 2016 10:50 pm

Hello Gents,

Embarrassing question this time. My drawings for the Model M boiler shows a Water Column for the sight gauge, try-cocks, etc.

But the drawing doesn't show anything about the enclosure for the boiler and I don't even know whether the column is inside or outside of the enclosure.

I have searched for photos extensively and to my eye, they are installed either way. Is that true?

Any recommendations?

Thanks again,

I've always done these outside the boiler.
