Lunkenheimer Oiler Question

A special section just for steam engines and boilers, as without these you may as well fit a sail.

Lunkenheimer Oiler Question

Post by JonRiley56 » Tue Jan 03, 2012 4:02 pm

Hi All,

Is anyone familiar with the Banner 5 ? Is it a manual "pump" type oiler ? I was talking with Lloyd down at Beckman boatshop last week, I actually stopped by, he is very helpful, and he suggested I might want to use a manual oiler instead of the large siplacement that I have been contemplating. I was wondering if one of these might be an option.

thanks

Hi Jon,

I have a Banner5 oiler as well. From what I can tell they are strictly a drip oiler for bearing lubrication etc.

Displacement lubricators are the best means of introducing cylinder oil. It is a steady flow.
