Steamboat camping trip out to McConnel Island July 4, 2013

Pictures from our camping trip on McConnell Island last weekend. Barbie (my wife) took these; there
are pictures of people, scenery and of course boats.

For Barbie and I this was a steam of about 7 miles over some big (for us) water; Otter is 19' and there are spots here where we have 20+ miles of fetch. Fortunately the weather was perfect. For those of you who don't know the area, this is east of Victoria BC and about 100 miles north of Seattle and is salt, of course.

Steve,

Very tame. I'm 70 and was pointed out as one of the youngsters. There were a few outbursts of poetry. The Cremation of Sam Magee featured prominently. Next year we are promised hit songs from the Broadway musical Showboat!

High top boots around the camp fire were advisable as the story telling was epic.
