Steamboat Bay USA
I thought you might be interested in an event I was invited to for the July 4th weekend.This takes place every year since 1960 or so and held on a private island,everyone in tents or in my case we slept on the boat.The hospitality of the people is unbelievable. It is interesting to note the difference in the boats as compared to UK . I guess because we are on the ocean and subject to pretty rough water[now thats another story!] the boats that attend are more work-like. Anyway enjoy the photos Den

If you're a member of the NorthWest Steam Society you get in touch with Jack Thompson or Andrew VanLuenen sometime in the mid Spring and indicate your interest. The number of people that can be accommodated on the island is limited so there is a limit on the guests. The island is private property and is only accessible by boat!

Thanks guys
Robert Dessert told me about it last year, but the idea kind of fell to the wayside.

Normally we require that you:csonics wrote:Those pictures make me want to move out to the great North West!
1. Be sponsored by a native;
2. That you get a "green card" before moving;
3. That you change all your money at the borders;
4. That you never tell anyone that the sun ever shines.
But as you're a steamboater, all of the above are waived.
