Re: steamboat Emerald
Thanks Wesley, I can't believe i sold that plant. i've been regreting ever since. eventhough it was all ready to go it would have been a while before i had another boat ready for it. so i've started on a new boiler and on the hunt for a 6a or AVL compound for my existing boat. i spoke with Gene a few months back and he told me the same story and mentioned how well the engine performed.
Re: steamboat Emerald
I'm sorry I didn't find the info sooner.
There is a gentleman here on the west coast whom I know quite well that has built several of Andy's compounds. I will ask him if he has any lines on one, or has one if his own for sale.

That would be sweet, just got my drawings from John King for his Yarrow weldless 3 drum boiler. already ordered the materials. Having trouble sourcing the CuNi 90/10 tubes though.
This boiler and either the AVL or 6a or Taylor twin would be a nice set up in my similar to Sylvie style boat. Can't wait!

I will be calling him today.
As far as cunifer/kunifer/and whatever else they call it. I've quite some trouble finding many suppliers in North America as well, though there seems to be more than just a few years ago. Here are a few:
http://www.fedhillusa.com/
http://www.farmerscopper.com/copper-nickel-tube.html
http://www.magellanmetals.com/nickel-al ... fgodRjQAcg
I've also found rolls of it on amazon.com and ebay, but they're usually under 12mm

I know I’m digging up an old post here, but I’m trying to track down where this boat may have ended up, as it was my dads once, as he built the engine, and assembled it.
Here’s an old video from when it was on the delta.

I've taken a look at Farmer's Copper before, as they are located quite conveniently close to me. Unfortunately, it seems that the biggest issue in North America is finding the Cunifer stock in the metric sizes specified by John King's boiler designs.87gn@tahoe wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2014 7:22 pmI will be calling him today.

Welcome to the forum Cooper. Hope you are able to track down your dad's old boat. Tell him and your mom I said hello!Coopercovelo wrote: ↑Fri Apr 26, 2019 12:59 amI know I’m digging up an old post here, but I’m trying to track down where this boat may have ended up, as it was my dads once, as he built the engine, and assembled it.
