Camber/rake

A special section just for steam engines and boilers, as without these you may as well fit a sail.

Where two or more masts were used, then generally the funnel would be on the same rake. If only a foremast existed, then the mast and funnel commonly had a different rake, certain in the this part of the world. The funnel always had more rake than the mast if only one mast was used.

It's aesthetic.. No way is "better" or "worst". Angled back or straight up, it's not going to effect the performance.

On Google if one selects "images" and types in "steamboat" there are hundreds of examples of Steamboats, few have any rake at all.

You'll get a different set with "steam launch". Some have rake, some don't. Pick what you like.... but I'd definitely just aim for at least a small rake backwards so it never looks like the stack is tipping forward - that's just wrong :).

The steamboat photo here is "Flyer" created by Andrew VanLuenen in 1994 and still around. A rather plain Elliott Bay 23'6" hull, the funnel is raked at 7 deg. - here she's going about 6+ knots. Tied to the dock, she looks even faster.
